International Economic Development Council Announces Award Winners

Michael Erin

A graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Michael Erin works as vice president of development for The Economic Club of Las Vegas. Michael Erin belongs to several professional organizations, one of which includes the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

As a nonprofit organization, IEDC represents more than 4,500 economic developer members. It is the largest organization dedicated to those who promote economic development and quality of life within their communities. These members work in a variety of areas, including private, public, urban, and rural as well as international and local communities.

At the IEDC’s 2016 conference, which occurred on September 25 through 28 in Cleveland, Ohio, the organization presented its excellence in economic development awards to dozens of individuals and organizations. These awards recognize the globe’s best economic development programs and most influential leaders for the year. Winners create positive change within their communities. Among the recipients included the following:

- Converse Economic Development Corporation in Converse, Texas, for its general purpose print brochure

- Allen Economic Development Corporation in Allen, Texas, for its special purpose print brochure

- City of Milpitas in Milpitas, California, for its paid advertising campaign
